Same stock, two shops, one number. The counter and the website finally agree.

A customer holds the last piece, walks to the counter, and is told it is available. It was sold online an hour ago. That mismatch is the whole problem, and it is fixed by having one stock pool that every channel sells from.

Barcode counter, online orders, marketplaces, returns and GST — one stock, one set of books.

Problems we solve

What a growing retailer runs into.

"The website says in stock, the counter says sold"

Two systems, two stock numbers, and the customer is the one who finds out. One stock pool means the last piece is visible to both, and the counter can hold it for a customer who is on the way.

"Marketplace sales never match what we receive"

Commission, shipping, cancellations, refunds and a payout that lands days later. Matching orders to the settlement report means you can see exactly which order made money and which one did not.

"Returns are a mix of cash and exchange and nobody agrees later"

Return notes get lost, the item goes back on the shelf without an entry, and the stock count is wrong for a week. A return recorded at the counter puts the item back and leaves the trail.

The approach

From opening count to month-end.

  1. 1

Items and prices are set once

Products with HSN codes, barcodes, unit and pack sizes, and a price list per channel. One item record, so the website and the counter cannot drift apart.

  2. 2

Opening stock is counted, not guessed

Physical stock entered at go-live, including the goods sitting in the storeroom and the goods on the shop floor. The system starts honest or it never starts honest.

  3. 3

Every channel sells from one pool

Counter sales, website orders and marketplace orders all reduce the same stock, so an oversell becomes a visible exception rather than a phone call.

  4. 4

    Month end closes by itself

Card and cash reconciliation, marketplace settlement matching, GST on retail sales, and the books prepared by the same team.

What's included

Store and channel side, and the books.

Store & channel side

Point of sale and barcodes

Fast billing with scanned items, customer price lists, discounts and holds for a customer who is still shopping.

Units and packs

Sell by piece, pack or dozen with automatic conversion, so a box of 24 does not have to be entered as 24 separate lines.

Online orders

Orders received, picked, packed and shipped, with the invoice and e-way bill generated from the same order.

Returns and exchanges

Return note with reason, stock restored and refund or exchange recorded against the original bill.

Books side

GST on retail sales

Output GST on counter and online sales, with purchase input matched against GSTR-2B so the credit you claim is real.

Channel settlement matching

Marketplace payouts matched to orders, with commission and fees captured, so the difference is explained rather than absorbed.

Cash, card and UPI

Daily cash and card positions reconciled against the bank, which is the fastest way to find a missing till amount.

Slow and dead stock

What has not moved in 60, 90 or 180 days, by value, so buying decisions are made on data rather than on habit.

Pricing

Two ways to engage.

FAQ

Questions retailers ask.

Something else? WhatsApp us and a member of the team will reply.

We run one physical store. Do we need a website to use this?

No. The point of sale, stock and books work on their own. If you later add a website or a marketplace, they plug into the same stock instead of needing a second system, which is the point of doing it this way first.

We sell on Amazon and Flipkart as well. Can Odoo handle that?

Yes. Orders come in, stock leaves once, and the money received from the marketplace is matched against those orders. Commission and fees are captured so the settlement reconciles to the rupee, which is the part that usually takes a day to explain.

Our billing is slow during the evening rush.

Usually because the cashier is searching names, applying a discount and typing quantities. With barcodes, the customer price list and a saved cart, the same bill takes seconds and the discount is not re-typed each time. It is also the fastest way to stop short billing in the rush.

How are returns handled when a customer changes their mind?

A return note puts the item back into stock with its reason, and the refund or exchange is recorded against the original sale. Stock becomes accurate again, which matters when the same item is bought twice in a day.

One stock number, whichever channel the customer uses.

Tell us what you sell, how many outlets you have, and where the channels disagree today. We'll show you what a single stock pool looks like for a shop your size.
