Move to a supported Odoo version without losing your data.

We migrate businesses from Tally, spreadsheets and older Odoo versions to current Odoo, with your masters, opening balances and history intact, and your customizations rebuilt to work on the new version.

Your live system keeps running until cutover, which is planned with you in advance.

Which version are you on?

Odoo publishes one major version a year, usually each September; versions leave standard support three years after release. We confirm your exact status against Odoo's published dates before quoting.

Two kinds of work

Two kinds of migration, handled differently.

A version upgrade and a move from another system are different jobs. We scope and price them separately, and we only quote paths we have delivered.

Odoo version upgrade

Odoo 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 or 18 to the current version, Community or Enterprise.

  • Database upgrade through Odoo's upgrade platform, with a test database first
  • Custom modules refactored for the new version's API and views
  • Third-party apps checked for a compatible release, or rebuilt
  • Reports, dashboards and integrations retested
  • Attachments and document filestore moved with the database

Process

How a migration runs.

Nothing touches your live system until you have signed off on a test run that matches your books.

  1. 1

    Assessment

We list your version, installed apps, custom modules, third-party apps, database size and integrations, then give you a fixed quote and timeline.

  2. 2

    Test migration

We run the upgrade or import on a copy, so your live system keeps running untouched.

  3. 3

    Code and data fixes

Custom modules are refactored for the new version, data is cleaned, and duplicates and broken masters are fixed.

  4. 4

    Verification

Your team tests real work on the test database. We match trial balance, stock valuation, receivables and payables against the old system.

  5. 5

    Cutover

A final migration over a weekend or a quiet period, with a rollback plan if anything fails the checks.

  6. 6

    Support after go-live

Close support for the first weeks, including your first month-end and first GST return on the new version.

Honest scope

What Odoo's upgrade service covers, and what we do.

Odoo's upgrade platform converts standard data to the new version's structure. It does not touch your customizations. That gap is where most upgrades stall.

Odoo's upgrade platform

Standard database conversion

Your standard modules and their data are converted to the target version's structure.

Test and production requests

You request a test database first, then a production one when you are ready.

Included with Enterprise

Odoo provides the upgrade service to Enterprise subscribers, including help with discrepancies in the upgraded database.

What ConfidoAi does

Customizations and third-party apps

Custom modules, studio changes and paid apps are refactored or replaced so they run on the new version.

Data quality and reconciliation

We clean masters, fix broken records and tie the migrated books back to your old reports.

Testing, training and cutover

User testing, training on what changed in the interface, and a planned cutover with rollback.

Community editions

For Community databases we handle the upgrade path, including community migration scripts where they fit your version jump.

What we need from you

What we need from you to quote.

Your version and hosting

Odoo version, Community or Enterprise, and whether you run on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own server.

Apps in use

The list of installed apps, and which ones your team actually uses every day.

Customizations

Custom modules, Studio changes, custom reports and anything a previous partner built.

Integrations

E-commerce, payment gateways, e-invoice or e-way bill tools, banks and any external software connected to Odoo.

Don't have this list ready? We can pull most of it from a database backup or a short screen-share.

What changes
Typical engagement: upgraded database with custom modules

An unsupported version, off the market.

Problem
On a version past standard support, an e-invoice tool no longer maintained, and two custom reports the finance team ran daily.
What we did
Test upgrade on a copy, refactored the custom modules, replaced the e-invoice tool with the current localization setup, and reconciled trial balance and stock before cutover.
Live system untouched until cutoverAll migration work ran on a test database
Custom modules carried forwardRefactored, not rebuilt from scratch

Pricing

How migration is priced.

Migration cost is driven by customization, not by company size. A clean standard database is quick. Ten custom modules and three integrations are not.

FAQ

Migration questions we get asked.

Send us your version and app list on WhatsApp and we'll tell you what your jump involves.

Can we skip versions, for example Odoo 15 straight to the current one?

Yes. Multi-version jumps are normal and are handled in one migration project. The bigger the gap, the more work goes into customizations and testing, which is what drives the quote.

How much downtime will we have?

Only at cutover. The test migration runs on a copy while you keep working. Cutover is usually scheduled for a weekend or a quiet period, and we agree the window with you in advance.

Will our custom modules and reports still work?

Not automatically. Custom code written for an older version has to be refactored for the new one. We list every customization during the assessment and tell you what is carried forward, what is replaced by a standard feature, and what is dropped.

We're on Odoo Community. Is an upgrade possible?

Yes. Community databases can be upgraded, and we confirm the path for your specific version jump during the assessment.

What happens to our old data and attachments?

Your transaction history moves with the database, and attachments and documents are moved with the filestore. For moves from other software such as Tally, you decide how many years of history to bring in.

Do you also handle Tally to Odoo?

Yes. That is an import project rather than an upgrade: masters, opening balances, open orders, and the history you need, reconciled against your Tally reports before go-live.

Can you keep running our books after migration?

Yes. Many clients move onto our monthly bookkeeping and GST service after go-live, so the same team that migrated the data also closes the month on it.
